Well, stone me!

What's going on in Midlothian? What should be going on? What shouldn't? If it's happening here, we want to know. But please - no politics! This is a friendly Forum.

Well, stone me!

Sorry about the title . . . but I've been reading a story about somebody mending a garden wall in Temple, and finding the Grail underneath.

Well, all right - not necessarily the Grail itself, but a very unusual carved stone or two, possibly sarcophagus lids, and the best one has been dated to the 12th century, when the Templars were getting up to whatever they got up to when the Kirk Proper wasn't looking.

The carving is intriguing - I think it may be easier to see if you turn yourself through ninety degrees as you look. (Or the computer, if that's easier to manage.) Then it looks like the top of a Celtic Cross at the top (right, on the horizontal pic) with possibly a sword below it, on the left?

Anyway, here's the photo:

I shall watch out for developments.

If they suspect it is a gravestone, they may think it's better left where it is. After all, if you upset those Templars, you never know what might happen . . .

Or possibly, that interesting stone is the only thing that's holding up the garden wall!
